Imagine a world where your deepest fears don’t just haunt your dreams… they manifest into reality. That’s the world of Blessed Curse.
In Blessed Curse, you play as a member of a secret organization investigating haunted locations across Japan, either alone or together with up to three friends online. The goal is to uncover the truth behind terrifying rumors, identify the folkloric entities that dwell there, and survive long enough to tell the tale.
I recieved the Sammes Sommarstipendium, a grant allowing students to develop in their field of studies through a professional project during the summer. I worked with the studio Tricky Wispers to help them develop their game Blessed Curse, where I did some research and programmed some of the UI.

UI References
I collected UI references from similar games, what they did good and what could be improved. I also started collecting some ideas from other games to think outside the box, like how to show who is the host, and how to show audio queues on screen for hard of hearing.


Project Blueprints
As this is a project that started before I got involved, and this where the first time I worked in a project where I hadn't been a part of it from the start, the first challenge when getting into the project in engine where to familiarize myself with what was already implemented. To familiarize myself with the project, I utilized Confluences Whiteboard feature and mapped out the code and how it interacted with each other,
Take Aways
There is a challenge with jumping into an already started project, but a fun challenge. Figuring out how all the different components works and interact with each other where also kind of a speed course in learning how to use blueprint components.
